Test system means any biological, chemical or physical system or combination thereof used in a study
The test system is what the test Item is applied to, for example the rats in a rat toxicology study.
Test system ill-health could affect study results, so the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice require that:
- At the start of the study test systems should be free of any disease or condition that might affect the purpose of the study.
- If any are diseased or injured during the study - they should be isolated and treated.
- Diagnosis and treatment of disease before or during a study should be recorded.
