Organisation Terminology - Test Facility

What is a test facility? Click here to find out

A test facility is defined as the person(s), premises and operational unit(s) that are necessary for conducting the non-clinical health and environmental safety study.

A safety test is carried out within a defined study conducted at a location or locations providing the required resources. The location or locations constitute the test facility. Studies conducted at more than one geographic location are referred to as multi-site studies.

The test facility provides the infrastructure and framework for the study. It must be organised and managed to ensure compliance with the GLP Principles. This relies on the commitment of test facility management.

Further detail on the organisation of a test facility are in Module 02, and on the role of management in Module 03 of this course.
