The OECD Advisory Document states that a Good Laboratory Practice Sponsor should:
- Understand the requirements of the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice
- Ensure that the test facility carrying out the study is aware that the study is to be performed under Good Laboratory Practice
- Ensure that the test facility is able to conduct the study in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice
In order to assess this last point, the Sponsor may monitor the test facility prior to and during the study. Also, the national monitoring authority may be contacted to determine the GLP compliance status of the test facility.
