Quality Management Systems - Influences

The adoption of a quality management system (QMS) should be a strategic decision by the organisation.
Design & implementation of a QMS will be influenced by:
- Its organisational environment, and changes and risks to it
- The organisational size and structure
- Its particular objectives
- The products or services it provides
- The processes it employs
- Its varying needs
The important point here is that any QMS must be designed to meet the requirements of that organisation. If there are regulatory obligations on the organisation the QMS must be designed to incorporate these responsibilities.
