Current Situation - Process Based Approach
During this same period other global manufacturing industries had made significant changes in the way they managed quality. This resulted in a move away from inspection based quality systems to a more process based approach to managing quality.
Whilst many pharmaceutical companies could see the benefits of these new approaches, they were reluctant to adopt such methods until the legislative framework reflected a more modern approach to quality management.
